COFFEE TALK

It's Tuesday.
And, I am indeed drinking my coffee.
And, my little finger just wandered over to the "New Post" button and clicked it.  (That crazy finger!)
So, here I am for coffee chat.
It seems like it has been soooooo long.   (Boo.)
And while I am glad I'm here.... I don't feel very chatty.  (Which is ODD for me!)

You see, it's almost Christmas.
And I'm kinda sad about that.
I can't seem to get into the mood.....  I'm just not feeling it.
I blame the crazy weather.

Luckily, we are pretty ready for the big day.  Aside from the wrapping bit.
I cheated this year and bought lots and lots of those cutesy boxes.  I think I will be adding tape and some ribbons and keep it at that.  Is that totally lame?   I should clarify, the boys gifts are getting wrapped, I am just doing the boxes for the adult gifts.  It will save me a lot of time.... AND it is environmentally friendly!  (Don't you love how I find ways to justify my laziness!?!)

Oh, and I am cooking on Christmas day, so I should probably think about our meal.  And we need to bake our Santa cookies.  (The first batch disappeared!)  So I guess there is still plenty to do.
How about you?  Are you ready?  Are you "feeling it" this year?  Does is seem like it is going way too quickly?

I'm determined next year to jump on the "Elf on the Shelf" bandwagon.  Maybe that will help liven up the pre-holiday festivities.  (Or at the very least, ease my Mommy guilt about not doing the fun Elf thing!) And, I want to also do an Advent calendar.  I'm putting reminders on my 2012 calendar now, so it doesn't sneak up on me!

So, that's it.  We will be getting the final touches ready for the big day and hopefully I can get myself in the Christmas mindset by then!    I think I am going to sport a Santa Hat and only listen to Christmas music for the remainder of the week.  That should do the trick!
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.  CHEERS!!!

I hear ya! I'm not in the mood for Christmas yet either. Not sure what it is...I get this way every year. Maybe it was all the years I worked retail during the holidays.
I may also get an Elf on the Shelf next year. I kinda think they are creepy, but seeing all of the Elf photos this year is slowly bringing me around to it being cute. Slowly...
I wish you a very Merry Christmas! Put on that Santa hat and get the tunes going! I might have to try that too. :)

I don't plan on making our Santa cookies until the 24th because our's will mysteriously disappear too!

I feel like December flew by, so I'm not prepared, but I am still "feeling it". I bought an advent calendar at Target for Dylan as a birthday present, and he has been so excited to see what candy is in it each night. We've done some other stuff to get us in the mood. I need to post about it all soon! Trying to finish the "Before 40" posts first.

I think the lack of snow (we have had none to speak of) makes me feel like it shouldn't really be christmas yet. when is the last xmas you can remember with no snow? i don't like it. and i don't even like the snow too much
: ( watch a really good xmas movie tonight after the kids go to bed and maybe that will help you get in the mood. thanks for coffee!

Hope you can get into the spirit! It has been so super cold here lately that I am ready for a reason to celebrate in this cold season!

The weather here in Ohio has been very mild too, but I really am OK with it. My mom and I just sat down this evening to plan our meals (we do breakfast and dinner). I'm sure it'll all come together in no time...maybe just something simple. Bring on the Christmas music :)

The strange weather was messing up my head too - but now we have a tiny amount of snow so it feels more like Christmas now. My hubby is getting the tree tonight to I´m sure my Christmas mood will rise big time after that! :-)

I was in the mood for Christmas right after Thanksgiving, but we ran into so many issues setting up our tree, and a few other things have been going on, and I'm just not feeling Christmas-y anymore. I'm hoping that will change once I get to New York and see my family again.

I hope you can find your Christmas-y feeling soon!
